Metro has created the Construction Industry Recycling Toolkit as a reference to help contractors, developers, architects and property owners in the Portland metropolitan region save money and conserve natural resources by reusing and recycling construction and demolition debris. They also run the recycled paint program. Metro has been collecting surplus latex paint from households and businesses and processing it into high-quality recycled paint since 1992. You can save money and help the environment by putting the paint back to work in your community or on the job site. |

Lead Poisoning Program staff of the Environmental and Occupational Epidemiology Program are responsible for identifying cases of lead poisoning in adults and children and investigating cases of occupational lead poisoning. They also work with local health departments who are responsible for the environmental and epidemiologic follow-up for children with elevated blood levels and adults who do not have an occupational exposure. |

This program provides free Community Energy Project Lead Poisoning Prevention Workshops throughout the Portland Metro area. Workshop participants are provided with workbooks addressing lead issues, and qualified residents receive a free Lead Poisoning Prevention Kit with $45 worth of cleaning supplies. They also have a HEPA lending program available for workshop attendees. |

The Construction Contractors Board (CCB) is a State agency that protects consumers by regulating construction contracting businesses. Oregon law requires that all types of contractors who perform work on residential and commercial structures in Oregon be licensed with the CCB. The CCB accepts workmanship (and other) complaints against licensed contractors, usually responding to these complaints (called "claims") with informal onsite investigation/mediation and, when necessary, more formal adjudication very similar to a court. The agency is divided into several sections. These include Licensing, Claims Resolution, Education, Enforcement, Administrative Services and Information Technology. |
